Escape Game Box is funded by affiliate links. No publisher, store or brand pays for coverage, for a place in a ranking or for a mention. Affiliate links are disclosed on every page that contains them.

What we cover

We write about games of investigation and deduction: murder mystery games, cold case files, escape room games, detective board games, mystery puzzles and murder mystery parties, and how to choose, host and solve them.

What we never cover

• Graphic violence. Murder mysteries are about clues, alibis and deduction. We never describe crime scenes in detail and never show victims.
• Alcohol. We do not recommend drinking games or drink pairings for a game night.
• Health claims. We describe what a game asks of its players, such as deduction, note-taking or teamwork. We do not make health, wellbeing or brain-benefit claims about games.
• Adult content.

Honesty about evidence

Every page displays its evidence label, and we never claim to have played a game we did not play. Our methodology explains the criteria and the sources behind each comparison.

Use of AI tools

We use AI tools for research support, structure and proofreading. Every page is checked and owned by the editorial team: game details are verified against publishers’ pages and rulebooks, and every quoted figure is checked in its original source.

Corrections

An error reported to [email protected] is checked and corrected, and the correction is dated on the page.

Links to other sites

We link to another site when it helps the reader: a primary source, a publisher’s hint page, or a site that answers a different need better than we do. When a reader’s question turns into a gift question, we may link to ChooseTheGift, a gift-ideas site. We never create links for any other reason.
